Removal of paracetamol from aqueous solution by containment composites

Abstract Storage of wastes leads to severe problems water pollution and neighboring matrices due the infiltration landfill leachate. Uncontrolled waste storage can lead groundwater pollution, which serious health for living. Engineered barriers be a solution these problems. The purpose this study was develop novel composite materials – clay-based, activated carbon, cement, PVA polymer. These composites were intended containment in landfill. clay (70–80%) carbon (5–15%) contents varied obtain three different geomaterials GM1, GM2, GM3. In preparation GM3, content used higher than GM1 paracetamol removal capacity tested by adsorption, experiments influenced parameters such as adsorbent mass, initial solute concentration, contact time, temperature, pH effect. parameter concentrations studied using range 50, 100, 150 mg L −1 . For GM3 mass 80 mg, adsorbed amount is 14.67 g , time 180 minutes. This revealed that are efficient treatment leachates.
